To keep our controllers safe, we will be implementing a maximum connection time of four (4) hours on the network over an eight (8) hour period. You can log up to 4 hours, every 8 hours, on any of the positions. Members who exceed four (4) hours connected within an eight (8) hour period will have any time over four (4) hours will not be counted from their total for that eight hour period, the total connection time will then continue being added once the next eight (8) hour period begins. * Prizes - Thanks to our mates at Impulse Simulations, there will be prizes for the controllers who achieve the most hours over the duration of the event. During the Munich HUB Event, EDDM will be fully staffed for five hours and connected with several European airports to create a busy network of routes. Our Franz Josef Strauß Airport (EDDM) will serve as the central hub, where all connections come together. The idea is simple: One pilot might bring passengers from Hamburg to Munich, another takes them from Munich onwards to Vienna, while someone else brings new guests from Prague into Munich. As a remaining section of the original World War II-era runway built at Salt Lake City Airport, it has served as a bridge between aviation’s past and its future for over 80 years. However, time and modern safety standards have caught up. With its unique orientation creating two persistent hotspots and its utility decreasing in the age of massive commercial flows, the decision has been made to decommission it to make way for the airport’s continued expansion. Come fly the bravo, practice your short landings, or make your final full-stop on this historic piece of Salt Lake history. To ensure everyone gets a chance to experience the pavement one last time, we are using the runway to a during this event so if you want to log Runway 14-32 in your logbook, here is what you need to know: Permitted Aircraft: VFR Traffic: All types are welcome.
